Today's market is crowded with Massage Therapists. How does a person decide on where they can get the specific help they require? How do they find satisfaction and success in pain management and healing?
A solid medical background is critical to good treatment massage. You should seek a trained professional. The more experience and hours of training that a therapist has, the greater their skills are. This translates into finding faster and more efficient relief from suffering and/or chronic pain.
Dave has 12 years experience in the medical field and 24 years in Neuromuscular Massage. Dave is a licensed Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMTA) who worked for nine years with Edmonton Ambulance Service as a Medic. Dave believes his medical background gives him a deeper understanding of medical injuries that can cause severe neck and back pain. He graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Grant MacEwan College, in Edmonton Alberta (1989) then practised massage as a Massage Specialist and opened his first massage clinics in Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Since then, he has spent several years teaching and revising curriculum at the Grant MacEwan College. He has attended many training courses in the US and other countries and has taught many courses on massage therapy. Dave also engages in guest speaker and consultation work. He currently enjoys the teaching arena sharing his advanced and unique techniques for healing chronic pain. He has been a guest instructor at NHPC conferences and was accepted by the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia to instruct CE/PD programs.
The respect of medical professionals is one of the reasons for the success of his clinics. Doctor's referrals (a few examples below), make up a good part of the patients that visit his office. Among those who have recommended their patients to Dave is respected Oral Pathologist Dr. Norman R. Thomas. Dr. Thomas highly recommends Dave for neuromuscular massage which aids in the relief of neck and back pain. Chiropractor Dr. Roger Jones also highly recommends Dave to many clients since both Chiropractic and Neuromuscular Therapy work hand in hand.
Dave specializes in rehabilitating adult, senior, athletic and youth suffering of acute and chronic pain. He has found his neuromuscular training is most effective on tough chronic problems.
"Mr. Henshall has had a long relationship with our clinic. For years, our clinic has specialized in the care and treatment of chronic pain patients, such as motor vehicle accident victims.
Mr. Henshall has always played an integral part in the rehabilitation of our patients. His neuromuscular (deep tissue) massage is the most advanced techniques that I am aware of in the province of Alberta.
He will be greatly missed by my patients and myself."
- Dr. Norman Richard Thomas, DDS Professional Corporation, Edmonton AB
"Dave Henshall has worked with our clinic for 6 months and has definitely been an asset to our health care team. We have sold our practice and the new owners require the entire space so Dave has had to move on.
Dave is an excellent neuromuscular practitioner. He is very knowledgeable and thorough with his clients. He is a great team player making sure the chiropractors are informed about his work with mutual clients and referring when indicated.
Dave has been a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend his services"
